December 15, 2017
Category: Belmont, CA Attractions

Laurelwood Park, which is some 225 acres, is San Mateo’s biggest park. It is known for its beauty and surroundings with trails that lead up to Sugarloaf Mountain. You can also take your family and kids there to play on the grassy lawns and have a great time together as a family. The park is located at 3471 Glendora Drive.

About the Laurelwood Park

The park is close to Sugarloaf Natural area, which offers some of the most serene trails for you to enjoy on the San Francisco Peninsular. Adorned with greenery crowning the hillside, hiking in Laurelwood Park offers a truly memorable experience. Sugarloaf Mountain itself has 4-5 trails. Some of the hiking trails are a bit steep, but they offer the perfect track to have that refreshing hike to get your heart pumping. Once you reach the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, which is almost eye level to College of San Mateo, you can stand back and enjoy some magnificent views of the views of the peninsula and SFO Airport.

The trails are woodsy, with plenty of trees and shrubs around to give you the feeling of being in the woods despite being only minutes from the urban bustle.

The park is open between 7 am in the morning and 10 pm at night.
